CONGRESS OF VIENNA
(CV)
TOPIC A: EUROPEAN BORDER DEFINITION AND GEOPOLITICAL RECONFIGURATION

TOPIC B: STANDARTISATION OF DIPLOMATIC LAW
After Napoleon's regional domination, the European balance of power was in disarray and, thus, countries stipulated that a congress must be made in order to restore a balance of power as well as prevent another situation where a single powerful country would be able to wield sole destructive influence. For these reasons, the Congress of Vienna begins in 1814 aiming to bring a solution. However, will the European countries be able to restore the peace in the continent even though every member appeal to put its national interest in the first hand?

TOPIC B: STANDARTISATION OF DIPLOMATIC LAW
Traditions and customs dictated the order of precedence among princes and republic, which directly translated into the precedence which was given to their representatives in a diplomatic corps. For some monarchies, ambassadors were given precedence over other countries, leading the reigns not to send a full ambassador but a representative of a lower rank to lessen the slight. In this way, another reason for a meeting in the Congress is the crucial formalization of diplomatic law as sustaining the old system has not been very practical.
